San Francisco Buys Vodka Shots For Homeless Alcoholics In Taxpayer-funded Program

Many San Francisco residents had no idea what the “Managed Alcohol Program” is or that they are paying for it until a local paper reported on it.

The program provides homeless patients who are diagnosed with an alcohol dependency 1-4 drinks of beer or vodka every day.

It also provides housing in a hotel, three meals each day, life skills classes, and “cultural outings” like free tickets to San Francisco Giants games.

Over 20 million dollars has been spent on 55 people taking advantage of this program over the last four years, according to the Department of Health.

Recovery Advocate Tom Wolf notes that that amount of funding could have funded 60 recovery beds, and asks “What is the recovery in all this, and what is the desired outcome of this program?”

Public health officials defend the program, saying that in the six months after clients entered the managed alcohol program, visits to the city’s sobering center dropped 92%, emergency room visits dropped more than 70%, and EMS calls and hospital visits were both cut in half.

Nathan claims he city was hoping to continue keeping this program in the shadows, knowing that many people would object to it.

The city has a practice of “harm reduction” as opposed to recovery and treatment focus, subsidizing drugs, needles, and other enabling practices to addicts in what it claims is a way to stabilize them and then “figure out what’s next.”  [Read More]

Donald Trump Holds Massive Beachfront Campaign Rally In Wildwood New Jersey

Wildwood officials estimate that between 80,000 and 100,000 people attended Trump's rally in New Jersey.

The rally size competed with Franklin D. Roosevelt's 1932 speech in Sea Girt which reportedly drew over 100,000 people.

Staten Island artist Scott LoBaido makes a painting of former President Donald Trump, before a campaign rally in Wildwood, New Jersey, on Saturday.

Some people were spotted camping out overnight on the boardwalk with some people lining up starting on Wednesday night for the Trump rally.

One local business owner said, “it's like Fourth of July, Labor Day weekend, and Memorial Day weekend all packed into one.”

The Trump campaign reportedly paid $54,200 to the city of Wildwood for the rally after they initially estimated 40,000 people would show up.

GOOD NEWS CORNER

NORTH CAROLINA Restaurant owner drives 6 hours to fulfill woman’s dying wish!

A North Carolina restaurant owner drove six hours to deliver what ended up being the last meal for Heather Bowers. Bowers had one last wish, a pork plate from Outer Banks restaurant Mama Kwans ( @mamakwans ) ... but she was in West Virginia. Her best friend called up the restaurant, and the owner was already packing up food for a road trip before they even hung up.

“I knew it was a long shot, and she calls me by about 5 and she said Kevin already has it packed up,” Mary Simmons said, referring to Mama Kwans owner Kevin Cherry. “He’s in the car and he’s on his way there. I said, ‘What?’ And she said he’s on his way to the house.”

The restaurant owner said he had to stop himself from crying to make sure he showed her a happy, fun side in her final hours. 🥹

Heather Bowers was a loving wife, mother of two, and devoted friend who passed of stage 4 cancer the following day. Kevin YOU are the good news. Let's please visit his restaurant. ❤️
